It has been an incredibly busy and productive year for the Foundation, it trustees and supporters.

As a result of the incredible support we have had for the production of a green paper , its production is now complete and includes contributions from industry and thought leaders from across a wide range of industries and disciplines.

The green paper has been created to help create a template for sustainable development in the Thames Gateway.

The intention of the green paper is to set out the requirements, methodologies and delivery mechanisms for achieving the Gateway’s “Eco Region” status. The Thames Gateway is of great significance not just for the economy of the South East, but also as a regeneration exemplar for the UK and beyond.

The Foundation’s staff and members have also been kept busy by the problems we face in the world economy.

It is very easy when facing and managing the day to day and longer term implications of the financial crisis for environmental considerations to move down operational agendas. It is critical that society and industry maintains the momentum that has been created in recent years to tackle climate change.

So alongside other charities and scientific bodies we have been busy lobbying to ensure that the complex issues of creating a sustainable environment remain high on the agenda.
