Welcome to Low Carbon World

Onwards and upwards!

Following on from the success of the 'Living in a Low Carbon World Conference' on 17 April, we are already planning a bigger and better event for next year, which will include a report back on some of the issues and findings from our recently announced 'green' paper. So, watch this space for further details! Also, please don't forget that if you feel you can help in any way with the production of the 'green' paper, all you have to do is send a message by clicking here and we will get right back to you.

Our next newsletter will feature a number of key topics raised at this year's conference and will also provide links to our newly created Web Seminars, as well as to videos of the conference. (If you attended this year's conference, you will receive free access to these materials.) If you are not already a subscriber to our newsletter, please enter your email address in the "subscribe to newsletter" field on this page to ensure you do not miss out on any issues.

Most importantly, a huge and heartfelt thank you to all those attendees, presenters, sponsors and behind-the-scenes workers who made this year's conference such an exciting event.

Over 80% of the world’s population lives in towns and cities. These environments are responsible for over 70% of all carbon emissions. The Sustainable Environment Foundation is a charity set up to develop and support strategies for sustainability in urban environments – in both existing and new developments and from inception to occupation.

The Sustainable Environment Foundation activities are represented in the market and to the public under the brand of Low Carbon World. Low Carbon World is the trading subsidiary of the Foundation which hosts events and is responsible for the fundraising activities of the organisation.

The Sustainable Environment Foundation is a charity  founded to promote public awareness of and research into the role played by the built environment in climate change.

“I firmly believe that we have the opportunity to lead a green industrial revolution in the urban environment and that, if we walk away from this challenge, we are endangering our future. The work of this charity leads us along that path.
The time for action is NOW so please join me on this journey and contribute today. “
