Sir Terry Farrell appointed Trustee of the Sustainable Environment Foundation

The Sustainable Environment Foundation announced today that the distinguished architect and urban designer Sir Terry Farrell has become a trustee of the Sustainable Environment Foundation, the property sectors unique charity, The Sustainable Environment Foundation has been founded to reduce the impact of the built environment on climate change.
Sir Terry joins Adrian Wyatt, CEO of Quintain, David Elliott, CEO of the Royal Albert Hall, Ian Henderson, Non-Executive Director of Liberty International PLC and Evans Property Group and Allan Jones, CEO of the London Climate Change Agency on the Board of Trustees.
Speaking on Sir Terry’s appointment, Adrian Wyatt, CEO of Quintain and Founder of the Sustainable Environment Foundation said: “I am thrilled to be welcoming Sir Terry onto our board of trustees. We will benefit enormously from his professional and personal commitment to tackling climate change. Sir Terry shares our belief that industry needs to lead the way in finding practical and lasting solutions to the greatest challenge facing our world today.”
As a trustee of the foundation, Sir Terry will be contributing to the Low Carbon World conference on the 17th April at the Royal Geographic Society, speaking via video link from China.
Following the success of last year’s conference, this year’s thought provoking agenda will draw upon the expertise of academic, commercial, social and political leaders to discuss the practicalities and issues of creating and maintaining such communities.
The one-day event will feature influential speakers and panelists who will debate how the development, property, finance, transport, energy and retail sectors can work together to influence individual and social behaviours and create truly sustainable communities.

Sir Terry Farrell is an internationally recognised architect and urban designer with more than 40 years experience in high-profile building schemes and masterplans worldwide. Recent UK work includes the London Home Office Headquarters, a new aquarium at Silvertown Quays in London’s Docklands and working on the re-use of the historic power station at Lots Road, Chelsea. Transforming the London skyline and animating the banks of the Thames with his Charing Cross Station and MI6 headquarters buildings, Sir Terry has won many awards and lectured extensively. He was awarded the OBE in 1978, a CBE for services to architecture in 1996 and knighted in 2001.
